Clara the Artist
Experience: My experience with art goes way back. So far back that my Dad usually has to tell the story. Let's just say it had something to do with a baby playing with a medium nobody likes to touch and creating her first mural. Yikes! The one thing I am not able to share is the sound effects that my Dad LOVES to do, of the little girl too happy with herself. My point is, that I've always been creative with art. I can't imagine a time that I wasn't.
Mediums: Sure I've done a lot of basic mediums such as pencil, acrylic, pencil, pen and ink, but I've also added jewelry, mosaics, woodburning, glass, cotton painting, quilting, print making (new one), photography and a lot of digital work with collage and illustration. I would love to try welding one day. That looks like a lot of fun.
Inspiration: Children and horses are my prime inspiration. Sometimes the environment will also surprise me. I love to catch the personality of children or the animals. I hope one day to get a good photo of a hummingbird. I've been lucky to get several shots, but they were luck and not what I would call a good photo.
We have several hummingbirds in our garden. They are a lot of fun to watch and ver noisy and territorial. They will sneak up on you and all of a sudden it sounds like a hellicopter is going to land on your head. One day I was watching my horses at a full gallop around the field while it was raining during the first major cold front. They were feeling frisky and sliding all over the place. At one moment I saw my Arab (Fred) turn a corner, slide then did a summersault completely over his head, down his back and back onto his feet. He promply bucked up in the air as if to cuss a bit and then took off. I went from total fear to amazement in a second. Thinks like this inspire me and are very entertaining.
Goals: I Let the inspiration in and never let it stop. Create, create and create.
Location: I live in Elgin, Texas about 25 minutes outside of Austin (where we lived for over 14 years). I can work with anyone in the US thanks to the Internet and Fed-X. There are no limits!
Hope we can create something together. Clara
