Clara the Photographer

Experience: I have taken photos since I was about 12 years old. I would love to harass my Dad into letting me use his camera and his lenses. For Graduation he gave me my own camera and I haven't stopped since. I've had no official training, just years of taking a ton of pictures. With the change to digital cameras, my husband was thrilled to get me a new one to cut our expenses with our new born. He was right. I figured the cost of film and development and the camera was paid for in the first month. Recently we purchased a nice digital camera, the Canon EOS 10D and WOW the quality really makes a difference.

Reason for Photography: First, I love it. Second, it is a great source of endless reference materials from which to draw from or create from. Everything about my art was my own down to the reference materials. Of course, I had a ton of shots of my two boys just for sheer enjoyment.

Available: Some of the photos are available for purchase (as prints) if you are interested. I have sold numerous copies and am always adding more to the collection. My style lends to a more portrait moment, capturing a head and shoulders shot of horses and details of expression. If I can capture their personality, I am thrilled. During the spring and summer months I love to play in the garden and also enjoy photographing there as well. My small goal is to get a nice shot of a hummingbird. NOT EASY! The little guys are FAST and dart around.

Goals: Very simple. Keep on shooting and meet more amazing horses and their owners.

Location: I live in Elgin, Texas about 25 minutes outside of Austin (where we lived for over 14 years).

Hope you like the photos. Clara
