Flowers and local critters catch my attention from time to time. Especially a moment that tells a story. One day I noticed a few hummingbirds around a bush. I was up for the challenge. The next thing I know I'm in the middle of a territorial squable of hummingbirds. If they buzz right next to your ear, you would swear a helicopter was about to land on you. Busy little things.

I had the fortune of photographing these wonderful Friesians at Twin Lakes Ranch in the Houston area. Simply marvelous horses. Added photos 2-9-2007

I am always drawn toward black and white photography. It seems timeless. Spepia or duotones can create the same effect, but add a little warmth and sometimes additional depth.

Here is a collection of multiple breeds up close and all their glory. My goal is to capture a little of their soul in these shots. Enjoy.
